The Vietnam Motor Industry Corporation (Vinamotor) will invest in four projects overseas, with a total value of $200 million.
Of these, three projects will be in Venezuela and the rest will be developed in Dominica.
In Venezuela, Vinamotor is scheduled to build a plant to produce asphalt, a plant to produce 18,000 lorries a year and another for 100,000 lorries a year.
After a series of successful contracts to produce buses for Dominica, this year, Vinamotor is scheduled to invest in a plant to make 5,000 buses a year for the market.
A representative from Vinamotor said that the corporation is aiming to become the leading motor manufacturer in Vietnam, with a capacity of 50,000-100,000 motors a year.
2007 was a successful year for Vinamotor as it earned a total turnover of 6,250 billion VND in the domestic market, and a profit of 165 billion VND.
